Tourism Ministry Picks Rashley as Tourism Month Ambassador

By Rahim Abdul

The Ministry of Tourism has officially appointed celebrated musician Rashley to be the face of this year’s Tourism Month campaign, scheduled to run from September 1 to 31.

This initiative aims to promote Malawi’s tourism industry and attract more local and international visitors to explore the country’s attractions.

Tourism Minister Vera Kamtukule said Rashley was chosen because of his exceptional talent and ability to connect with diverse audiences.

According to Kamtukule, the ministry believes that Rashley’s influence can help drive the tourism message across the country more effectively.

She further disclosed that the ministry has secured a K1 million donation from well-wishers to support Rashley in executing his role during the campaign.

The funds will be used to facilitate performances, promotional events, and other activities aimed at boosting tourism awareness.

The announcement comes at a time when Rashley is working to rebuild his reputation after publicly apologizing to Malawians for past mistakes.

He recently promised fans that he is determined to revive his music career and return to his former glory days.

Signs of a strong comeback are already evident as organizers of the prestigious UMP Festival have confirmed Rashley’s participation in this year’s event in Mangochi.

This will provide him with another platform to showcase his musical prowess to a wide audience.

In addition to the government’s support, Rashley has also received encouragement from the faith community. Bishop Chimwemwe Chafumuka has contributed K500,000 to the musician, describing the donation as a gesture of hope and motivation during his challenging times.
