Second Vice President Enock Chihana has called on Malawians to promote a culture of truth, transparency, and accountability by engaging constructively with leaders and public institutions.
Speaking on Monday during an engagement meeting with business leaders in Mzuzu, Chihana said national progress depends on active citizen participation and open dialogue between government and the people.

The second VP noted that meaningful development can only be achieved when citizens understand and contribute to decisions and policies that shape their lives.
“For our nation to move forward, leaders must communicate clearly and truthfully, while citizens must take the initiative to seek clarification whenever information is unclear,” said Chihana.
He further observed that some community challenges persist because people often remain silent instead of questioning or seeking explanations about government actions.
Chihana reaffirmed government’s commitment to working closely with citizens and stakeholders in advancing national development, adding that unity and accountability are essential for Malawi’s progress.
During the meeting, business representatives emphasized the importance of open communication and mutual trust between the government and the private sector, saying transparency builds confidence and fosters effective partnerships for economic growth and social development.
