Optic Fibre Communications (OFC) on Thursday injected K10 million into the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) National ICT Innovations Awards scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC ) in Lilongwe, where innovators in the ICT sector will be recognised and supported.
Speaking during the cheque presentation ceremony in Lilongwe, OFC Chief Marketing Officer Stella Hara said the company’s contribution goes beyond financial support to include the provision of internet services for the event.

“This support will help MACRA meet key logistical requirements while also giving stakeholders an opportunity to experience our unlimited internet connectivity,” said Hara.
On his part,MACRA Director of Broadcasting Zadziko Mankhambo commended OFC for the timely contribution, noting that the awards play a crucial role in promoting locally developed ICT solutions.
“The event will recognise and celebrate the efforts of Malawian innovators who are developing solutions to address various challenges through technology,” said Mankhambo.
During the awards, 20 ICT solution providers are expected to showcase their innovations, with the top two winners earning sponsorship to present their projects on international platforms.
