Zomba-based military football outfit Red Lions FC on Thursday signed a one-year partnership agreement with High Energy Electric, which will sponsor the club’s Player of the Month award to the tune of K300,000.
Speaking during the contract unveiling ceremony held in Blantyre, High Energy Electric Operations Manager Biston Kalumbi said the company was impressed by Red Lions’ recent performances, particularly in the NBS Bank National Division League, where the team emerged champions.

Kalumbi also commended the club for restructuring its executive committee to include more civilians, describing the move as a sign of professionalism and growth.
Speaking on behalf of the club, chief supporter Peter Chindipha welcomed the partnership, saying the sponsorship would motivate players to improve their performance in the FDH Bank Premiership and other top-flight competitions.
Red Lions are currently sixth on the league table with five points from three matches.
Their next fixture will be against FCB Nyasa Big Bullets at Joyce Banda Stadium on Sunday.
