FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have suffered their first defeat of the 2026/27 FDH Bank Premiership season after losing 1-0 to Goshen City Dedza Dynamos at Dedza Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Marco Chiwaya scored the decisive goal in the 41st minute of the first half to hand the hosts a famous victory and deny Bullets a chance to move to the top of the league table.
The defeat ends Bullets’ unbeaten run in the league and leaves them in fourth position with 20 points.
Following the latest round of matches, Blue Eagles have climbed to the summit of the standings after edging Red Lions 3-2 at Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe.
Bullets struggled to create clear scoring opportunities throughout the match as Dedza Dynamos defended resolutely to protect their slender lead until the final whistle.
Speaking after the game, Bullets assistant coach Heston Munthali admitted that his side failed to produce the performance expected of them.
“The way we played was not good enough. It looked like the players were forcing things, they were heavy, and our decision-making was poor, which affected our ability to attack and create chances,” said Munthali.
He described the result as disappointing, saying his team should not have lost the match considering the opportunities they had.
Munthali added that the coaching panel has already spoken to the players and urged them to show greater commitment and determination in the coming fixtures.
For Dedza Dynamos, the victory was a major boost as they successfully contained one of the strongest teams in the league to collect maximum points at home.
Bullets have now accumulated 20 points from five wins, five draws and one defeat, dropping to fourth place in the league standings.
The result has further intensified the FDH Bank Premiership title race, with Blue Eagles now leading the table while Bullets will be aiming to bounce back in their next league encounter.
