Ansah Distances Herself from Claims Against Presidency

Malawi’s Vice President Jane Ansah has distanced herself from any statements, opinions, or actions that seek to undermine the Presidency or its unity.

The clarification was made through a statement issued by Communications Officer in the Office of the Vice President, Richard Mveriwa, who said Ansah remains committed to her constitutional responsibilities.

According to the statement, the Vice President is guided by the Constitution in carrying out her duties and remains committed to protecting the country’s constitutional order.

Mveriwa said Ansah does not support or endorse any position that is inconsistent with the Constitution or one that could weaken the unity and stability of the Presidency.

He added that the Vice President continues to work in support of the President while faithfully executing the responsibilities assigned to her office.

The statement emphasized that Ansah’s commitment is to serve Malawians within the framework of the Constitution and the rule of law.

It further said the Office of the Vice President remains focused on promoting cooperation and institutional stability in government.

Mveriwa also urged members of the public to disregard claims suggesting that the Vice President is involved in actions aimed at undermining the Presidency.

The statement comes amid public discussion and speculation regarding the relationship between the President and the Vice President.

Authorities have maintained that Vice President Ansah remains committed to supporting the Presidency and carrying out her constitutional mandate in accordance with the law.
