Music fans in Malawi have expressed mixed reactions after three popular artists announced that they will release new songs on the same day, Monday, sparking debate across social media.
The first announcement came from Kell Kay, who revealed that he would release a new song titled “LE” on Monday. His announcement quickly attracted excitement from fans eager to hear his latest R&B offering.
A few hours later, Gibo Pearson also announced that he would release a new track on the same day. His song is titled “WA,” adding another major release to Monday’s music lineup.
On same Thursday, Zeze Kingston joined the list by announcing that he too would release a new song on Monday. His upcoming track is titled “Vomereza.”

Zeze’s announcement caught additional attention after he jokingly wrote on social media: “Shhhhh… Don’t tell Kell Kay that I’m also releasing mine this Monday. He will find out himself!” The playful message generated laughter and further discussion among music lovers.
Since the three announcements, social media platforms have been flooded with differing opinions, with some fans questioning whether releasing songs on the same day is the best approach.
Some followers argue that all three musicians have loyal supporters and releasing music simultaneously could divide listeners’ attention. They believe one artist should have waited a few days before dropping a new song.
Others say the artists are unintentionally forcing fans to choose which song to promote and listen to first, something they feel could affect the visibility of each release.
However, another group of fans sees nothing wrong with the situation. They argue that music lovers can listen to all three songs regardless of when they are released.
Supporters of the simultaneous releases also point out that the artists perform different genres, meaning they are targeting different audiences rather than directly competing with one another.
Kell Kay is widely known for his R&B sound, while Gibo Pearson has built his reputation through his distinct local music style. Zeze Kingston, on the other hand, is expected to release an Amapiano-inspired track, giving listeners a different musical experience.
