FIFA President Gianni Infantino has congratulated Malawi for qualifying for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
In a message featured in a congratulatory graphic, Infantino described Malawi’s qualification as a landmark achievement for the country’s women’s football and an inspiration to the entire nation.
The FIFA president said the Scorchers’ dedication, passion and hard work had opened the door for Malawi to compete on the world stage.
He further congratulated the players, technical team, support staff and everyone who has contributed to the development of women’s football in Malawi.
According to the message, the achievement demonstrates the progress being made in Malawi’s women’s football and the growing potential of the Scorchers.
The qualification represents a historic moment for Malawi as the team prepares to make its maiden appearance at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
