The Football Legends Association (FLA) says it has so far raised K50 million out of the K61 million required to organise an international friendly match between former Malawian football players and their Zambian counterparts.
In an interview with 247 Malawi News,FLA Chairperson Jim Kalua said K8 million has been contributed by members of the association, while corporate sponsors have provided K41 million.

Kalua added that the association still needs to raise K10 million to fully meet the costs of hosting the match.
The friendly game is scheduled to take place at Bingu National Stadium (BNS ) on December 28,2025.
FLA is a non-profit organisation that brings together former Malawian football players who previously featured in top-flight local and international football.
The association was formed to promote unity and welfare among retired footballers, preserve Malawi’s football heritage, and create platforms through which former players can continue contributing to the development of the game.
FLA also organises charity and exhibition matches, engages in youth mentorship, and mobilises resources to support its members, particularly those facing health or social challenges after retirement.
