High court suspends Chizuma’s interdiction

The High Court through Judge Mike Tembo has today stayed Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma’s interdiction.

This means that Chizuma is now back in office and free to exercise her powers as the country’s grafting body Director General.

According to court documents this publication has seen,the injunction is issued against the Secretary to the President and Cabinet, the Chief Resident Magistrate and prosecutors from taking any further steps on the documents they issued.

The Malawi Law Society has however, obtained the injunction pending a judicial review of the case.

Chizuma was interdicted by the Secretary to the President and Cabinet (SPC) Colleen Zamba following the criminal charges she is facing on the leaked audio conversation with an unknown person on the ongoing court cases against businessman Zuneth Sattar.
