Nkhotakota South East has spoken—residents of Mkhula have declared unwavering support for Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera as Malawi’s President and Skeffa Chimoto as their parliamentary candidate in the upcoming elections. The message was clear: no change in allegiance.
The show of solidarity came during a vibrant rally on Tuesday at Khwapu Primary School, where a massive crowd gathered to hear MCP Director of International Affairs and Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Patricia Kainga Nangozo and parliamentary hopeful Skeffa Chimoto. Nangozo, urged supporters to reject complacency and turn out in full force on September 16 to secure victory for both Chakwera and Chimoto.

Chimoto, addressing the energized crowd, vowed to be a relentless advocate for development, promising to push the government for transformative projects in Nkhotakota South East. “Our area must progress, and I will work tirelessly to make that happen,” he declared.
The rally reinforced the MCP’s stronghold in the region, with attendees chanting pro-Chakwera slogans, signaling a united front ahead of the polls. With just weeks remaining, the party is leaving nothing to chance, banking on grassroots mobilization to deliver another decisive win.
