Ken Kandodo invites teachers on tour of parliament

Member of Parliament(MP) for Kasungu central Ken Kandodo on Thursday invited teachers from his Constituency and other Constituencies in Kasungu district in order to allow them see how MPs do their work in parliament.

In his sentiment, Kandodo said teachers are the ones that are responsible for grooming the young men and women in all the Constituencies of Kasungu district.

He said:” we hope they must have an idea of how we do our work and they will be able to inform and train the young ones as they are going through of their education system to make them aware of their responsibilities as citizens of this country.

” But also I am here as well as mamber of parliament because I was elected and am here to represent them, so I think it is normal in once a while I must get people in my home to come and see the work that I do here and to see the importance of parliament in our country.”

Kandodo added that the people were very happy because they have seen what they did not know about the things that are happen in Parliament hence they have witnessed the parliamentary debate.

On her remarks, payer of primary education advisor from Lisasadzi zone in Kasungu Alice Songe said the Parliament is good because the parliamentarians are very serious as they discuss things which are very important to the country.

She said:” we appreciate what is happening here because we just see from the television when we are watching, but today we have really witnessed what is happening here.”

According to one of the political analysts at University of Malawi Mustapha Hussein, bringing the people from the Constituencies to Parliament is one of the way of promoting political development in the country hence people can have an idea of what really happens in Parliament.

Among the people who were invited to witness the Parliament session include headteachers and payers from the Kasungu central Constituency, Kasungu west Constituency and Kasungu south respectively.
