The Malamia Police Mobile Service (PMS) Women’s Welfare recently visited Mangochi Prison, donating essential items to six female and 22 elderly male inmates.
The group led by Chairperson Stella Kanjanga, the group provided 100kgs of maize flour, 25kgs of rice, 10 kgs of salt, five litres of cooking oil, and one bale of soya pieces.
This charitable act highlights the organization’s commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society.

The donation was well-received by the inmates, who expressed gratitude for the kindness.
Shakira Kennes, serving a six-year sentence, thanked the group for their timely support, emphasizing that life in prison can be challenging.
The inmates appreciated the group’s efforts to alleviate some of their struggles.
This isn’t the first time the Malamia PMS Women’s Welfare has engaged in charity work. Last year, they donated to St. Martin’s Hospital, and on New Year’s Day, they spent time with 30 children with disabilities in the Malindi area.
Their dedication to helping those in need is evident in their continued efforts to make a positive impact.
Similar initiatives have been seen in other parts of the country, where organizations and individuals visit prisons to uplift the spirits of inmates.
Few months ago Islamic Research Care and Support also visited Mangochi Prison, treating inmates to a special Eid feast and providing emotional and spiritual support
