Malawi National Beach Soccer Team Through To the 2022 Afcon

Malawi national beach soccer team has qualified for their first ever Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) despite losing 6-5 to Tanzania on Sunday.

The Malawi team played Tanzania at Coco Beach Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Sunday in a second leg match and qualified on an away goal rule after winning the first leg 3-2 at the Sunbird Livingstonia Beach in Salima two week ago.

During Sunday’s match, Malawi scored through Isaac Kajam, Martin Biliati, Sandram Saddi and Dala Simba while,Yaha, Stephani Mapunda, Jaruph Juma and Eric Manyama were on target for the home side.

National Beach Soccer Team Coach Willy Kumilambe has since thanked his charges for the hard working spirit and asked more support from Malawians for the team to perform much better in the tournament.

The 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) is expected to be held in October this year in Maputo, Mozambique.
