Malawi Queens have continued their impressive campaign at the Africa Netball Cup in Kenya after defeating Nigeria 82–22.
The Malawian side dominated the match from the opening stages, producing a strong attacking display to secure a comfortable 60-goal victory over Nigeria.
The match was Malawi’s third outing in the tournament, with the Queens maintaining their winning run.
Before facing Nigeria, Malawi had already defeated Zambia and hosts Kenya in their earlier matches.
The victories have placed Malawi Queens in a strong position as they continue their campaign at the continental tournament.
Malawi’s defence also played a key role in the latest victory, restricting Nigeria to just 22 goals throughout the match.
At the other end of the court, the Queens’ attackers converted their opportunities consistently to reach 82 goals.
The result underlines Malawi’s strong start to the Africa Netball Cup, which is being held in Kenya.
Malawi Queens are now looking to maintain their momentum in the remaining matches of the competition.
The tournament is also important for Malawi’s hopes of securing qualification for next year’s international competition.
Malawi have a strong chance of earning a place at the global tournament scheduled to take place in Australia next year.
The Queens will therefore be aiming to build on their impressive results in Kenya as they pursue qualification and seek further success on the international stage.
