The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has announced the 2025 Primary School Leaving Certificate (PSLCE) and Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) results, declaring them free of leaks during a ceremony at the Bingu International Convention Centre. MANEB Board Chairperson Professor Samson Sajidu highlighted the seamless exam administration, supported by e-registration and e-payment systems .Â
A total of 216,972 out of 247,958 PSLCE candidates passed, achieving an 87.50% pass rate, with male candidates outperforming females at 90.61% versus 84.56%. The JCE results saw 122,977 passes out of 158,451 candidates, marking a 77.61% pass rate—a 6.41% improvement from 2024. Notably, male candidates recorded an 81.98% pass rate compared to females’ 73.49% .Â
Dr. Grace Milner, Director of Basic Education, revealed that 103,261 learners were selected for Form One, reflecting a 47.59% transition rate. Top-performing institutions included Ludzi Girls Secondary School (JCE) and Mkazomba Primary School (PSLCE) . MANEB dismissed social media rumors about premature result releases, directing the public to obtain official results through schools . The results underscore progress in Malawi’s education sector, attributed to enhanced teaching strategies and equitable resource distribution .
