Muluzi announces plans to restructure UDF

By Rahim Abdul

United Democratic Front (UDF) leader Atupele Austin Muluzi has announced plans to reform and restructure the party to strengthen its operations, internal structures and representation.

In a statement published on his official Facebook page, Muluzi says he met UDF Secretary General Genarino Lemani at the party’s National Secretariat in Blantyre on Monday to discuss the proposed changes.

He says the reforms will be implemented soon as part of efforts to make the party more vibrant, inclusive and responsive to the aspirations of Malawians.

Muluzi says the restructuring aims to strengthen the party’s internal organisation, promote renewal and create opportunities for broader participation.

He adds that the changes will help position the UDF to respond effectively to emerging political challenges while improving its representation of the people it seeks to serve.

Muluzi has also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to upholding the rule of law in Malawi as it pursues its reform agenda.
