Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the Southern Region, Honourable Joseph Mwanamveka has sent shockwaves across the country after boldly declaring that His Excellency President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika will rule Malawi until 2030, saying no opposition can remove him.
Speaking at this year’s Mulhakho wa Alhomwe cultural festival in Mulanje District, Mwanamveka said President Mutharika was overwhelmingly elected by Malawians in 2025 and will continue to serve as the country’s beloved leader until the end of his term in 2030.
Mwanamveka, who was speaking before thousands of Lhomwe people and other Malawians who gathered to celebrate their culture, said President Mutharika is a strong, wise and God-chosen leader who has brought hope, development and dignity back to Malawi.

The DPP Vice President for the South, who is known for his loyalty and hard work, said President Mutharika remains focused on transforming Malawi and improving the lives of ordinary Malawians despite cheap insults from some ungrateful individuals.
Mwanamveka criticized individuals he accused of becoming disrespectful after being entrusted with positions of responsibility, arguing that some people had gained prominence only after receiving appointments from President Mutharika himself.
He invoked a biblical warning against those who dishonour their parents, saying respect for elders and cultural values should remain central to society and warning that those who insult President Mutharika will face curses.
Mwanamveka further revealed that President Mutharika is fully aware of individuals who have been insulting him, although he did not mention names, sending a strong warning to those who think they can disrespect the Presidency and go free.
His powerful remarks brought a strong political edge to the Mulhakho wa Alhomwe gathering, an annual cultural event that celebrates Lhomwe heritage, traditions and identity while also attracting prominent political figures who come to pay respect to the culture that President Mutharika cherishes.
The crowd in Mulanje erupted in ululation and applause as Mwanamveka declared that APM is not going anywhere until 2030, proving once again that under President Arthur Peter Mutharika, Malawi is in safe, wise and visionary hands.
This is a clear message to the opposition that Malawians chose President Mutharika and they will stand with him until 2030 and beyond.
