Namadingo to construct hospital in Chitipa, bringing hope to the community

By Rahim Abdul

Malawian musician Patience Namadingo has announced plans to construct a hospital on the Chitipa-Nthalire stretch.

According to Namadingo, he will start contacting hospitals in Chitipa from Friday, driven by his previous success at Wataka Primary School in Machinga.

This initiative comes at a time when Chitipa District Hospital is struggling to meet the healthcare needs of the local population.

The hospital, which serves as a referral center for surrounding areas, has been overwhelmed with patients, including those from neighboring Tanzania and Zambia.

Senior Chief Mwabulambya has been advocating for the construction of a modern hospital in the district, citing the current facility’s small size and inability to cope with the growing population.

Namadingo’s efforts are expected to bring much-needed relief to the community.

His philanthropic work has been evident in the past, including his attempt to repair grounded ambulances at Mangochi District Hospital, although that effort was met with resistance from hospital management.

Despite this setback, Namadingo remains committed to giving back to the community.

The construction of a hospital on the Chitipa-Nthalire stretch would significantly improve healthcare services in the area, providing access to essential medical care, emergency services, and specialized treatment.
