Mbewe wati wakonzeka kuzathetsa umphawi komanso njala ku Malawi

M’modzi mwa omwe awonetsa chidwi chozapikisananawo pa mpando wa mtsogoleri wadziko lino mzisankho za 2025 David Mbewe wati iye msanamira ya mfundo zake yagona pothetsa umphawi komaso njala zomwe zakhala zikuzuza amalawi ochuluka maka akumudzi mdziko muno.

Mbewe yemwe posachedwapa wakhazikitsa chipani chake chotchedwa Liberation for Economic Freedom (LEF) wati iye kukhala mtsogoleri wadziko lino sadzalola kuti m’malawi ndi m’modzi yemwe adzafe ndinjala.

Mwazina iye wati azaonetsetsa kuti amalawi ambiri maka a kumudzi ali ndi mwayi waukulu opeza zipangizo za ulimi pamtengo ozizira.

“Umphawi ndi njala ndizomwe zikupha amalawi ochuluka kunjaku. Nthawi yakwana tsopano kuti David Mbewe apulumutse mtundu wake kumavutowa. Ndili pano kulonjeza kuzathetsa umphawi, njala, nthenda ngakhale sanje pakuti izi zikuzuza mtundu wanga,” anatero Mbewe.

US ambassador to Malawi David Young retires

The US ambassador to Malawi David Young has announced his retirement with immediate effect.

In a statement, Young says he knows the US-Malawi partnership will continue to endure, stating in Chichewa that America ndi Malawi ndi Pachibale.

The outgoing US ambassador has made a commitment to utilise his next service opportunity to educate and uplift upcoming leaders.

According to a statement released by the US Embassy in Malawi, Amy Diaz has taken up the responsibilities of Charge d’ Affairs in Lilongwe pending the nomination of a replacement by the White House.

Young was sworn in as the US ambassador to Malawi on March 3, 2022.

He has served in African posts for the past decade. 

He served as Chargé d’Affaires at the US Embassy in Lusaka, Zambia from 2020-2021. 

He was Chargé d’Affaires,  at the US Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa in 2019, and Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria from 2016-2019. 

He also served in Zambia as Deputy Chief of Mission from 2013-2016.

Young briefly served as Acting Deputy Chief of Mission in Khartoum, Sudan in 2012.

In short, he has 34 years of public service under his belt before retiring.

AyCee X drops her debut album ‘The Gem II’

One of Malawi’s renowned urban artist, AyCee X has released her debut album titled ‘The Gem II’.

According to AyCee X formerly known as AyCee James, the album which has been produced by OBK Beats and Sispence, is a follow-up to her Extended Playlist titled ‘The Gem in I’.

Some of the notable songs in the album include,  ‘Go Konko’ and ‘Download’.

Evanz Muzik impresses in his new song ‘Growing Everyday’

Music followers have been reacting to ‘Growing Everyday’, a new song by rapper Evanz Muzik which was released on Tuesday evening.

The new song carries nothing but the message of hope especially to Malawian youths who are currently facing numerous challenges in their daily lives.

The song has been produced by Tonicity and Praise Umali while Guitar Tracking has been done by Paul Kachala.

The chorus of the song which has been backed by the melodic voices of Kaetrinah emphasizes the need to have faith in God even when going through difficult situations. “Akundiphweketsa kundiderera/ Ine no pressure ndimapemphera /…Ine ndidzayiphula one time, Ndidzayiphula one time…

Commenting on the new song, one music fanatic, Kondwani Tyson said he likes everything about the song and he thinks it is one of the best songs released this year so far, “Words, flows, beats and melodies, speak straight to my spirit! Umakwana Ras,” reads his Facebook comment in part.

Manzy Mhango says ‘Growing Everyday’ is the song that many people can relate to.

He said, “So relatable bro! Actually this song speaks to me! Now that I graduated I have experienced the real world. Koma ndizaiphula one time! Thank you Ras for the beautiful track.”

Donex Lindima wrote, “Nyimbo zopeleka hope, verse two really got me bro, am just shading tears man EvanzMuzik this is real hip-hop.”

Evanz Muzik real name Evanz Chimwala, came in the limelight after releasing his hit single ‘Dear Mahopu and he has since released some notable songs like Lessons, Napolo and Maselema- a tribute to late hip-hop artist ‘Martse’.

Charles Chipala bids farewell to Dedza Dynamos as he joins Silver Strikers

One of Dedza Dynamos’ longest serving players, Charles Chipala, has bade farewell to the club that he served for over five years as he joins Silver Strikers Football Club in Lilongwe.

In an emotional statement released by the player on his Facebook page, Chipala thanked Dedza for helping him to become a better footballer and for making him and his family feel at home during his stay at Dynamos

“I would like to express my unwavering gratitude and appreciation for the love from the last 5 years and representing the club was the biggest honour for me.

Indeed, after five wonderful years my stage at Dedza Dynamos FC comes to an end.

Thanks a lot to the Patron of the club, Mr Lewis Yumbe Msukwa, Mr Gerald Kampanikiza for being so supportive and the entire executive committee, coaches and teammates i’ve had, and of course to the fans.” Read the statement in part.

Chipala has signed a three-year deal with Silver Strikers as a free agent, following the expiry of his contract with Dedza on February 12th, 2024.

The striker played for Dedza Dynamos in the Dedza league, Chipiku Premier Division for two seasons before helping the team to get Super League in 2021 and has been with the team in the top-flight league for two seasons.

Chipala is the second top striker to leave the Dedza outfit following the departure of the 2023 TNM Top Goal Scorer, Clement Nyondo, who joined Mighty Mukuru Wanderers a couple of weeks ago.
