Three new Walycris songs to be released this year-Management

Management team of the late musician ‘Walycris’ has announced that they will release three new songs of the late musician this year.

The announcement came after the Copyright Society of Malawi (COSOMA) gave the late musician’s family K1 million of blank media levy royalties.

The Management team has since thanked Malawians, media houses and DJ’s for the continued support they have been showing for the late music star.

” Your support has been instrumental in earning us 1 Million Kwacha from COSOMA blank media levy royalties.This amount has been given to the wife and kids of the late Walycris Wanyengo,” reads the statement in part.

The ‘ _Achalume_ ‘ hitmaker died on 23 December, in a bus accident in Zimbabwe while he was returning home from South Africa where he went for a music performance.

Network hitches paralyse Zero2 operations

The newly launched telecommunications and internet services provider, Zero2 has complained that network hitches are hindering its plans of connecting the large populace to the brand.

Managing Director for the company Faizal Okhai,said this in an exclusive interview in Blantyre on Thursday in reaction to the recent trending reports of intermittent services from the customers.

But the Managing Director assured the customers of a restored network services in the next few weeks.

“We are definitely facing some unforeseeable complicated issues as a new network on the market.

“However, we are tirelessly working on restoring it so as to ensure that the challenges are rectified in the next few weeks,”said Okhai

According to the Managing Director, customers around Blantyre have been having a relatively very strong network services unlike in other eleven districts that the company covers.

” I think the overwhelming demand for our services since we rolled out our brand is congesting our network.

“We could not foresee this trend in our planning,” he said.

On the other hand, Okhai assured the consumers that the company would very soon spread across dealers to provide the services at the doorstep.

“Our focus is to make the services available to all Malawians with the main target of reaching the low and middle income earners who needed affordable and high quality communications for the development,” he said.

Zero2 is a telecommunications and internet network brand that was launched in Blantyre in December 2023.

During the launching ceremony, the company disclosed that it invested over MK15 Billion to put in building the new state of the art GSM and 4G LTE network infrastructure.

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers board dissolved

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers persistent and board chairperson Thompson Mpinganjira on Friday announced the dissolution of the Lali-Lubani Road outfit with immediate effect.

Mpinganjira told the Nation that the decision to dissolve the board was arrived at following an ordinary resolution by the majority of the shareholders of the company.



Said Mpinganjira:“Following the dissolution of the board, all matters requiring the attention of the board shall be directed to the acting chief executive officer, Roosevelt Mpinganjira.

“All members of the dissolved Board are requested to consult the acting chief executive officer for appropriate administrative arrangements if any.”

The Nomads are looking to bounce back in 2024 season after having a dry 2023 football season.

TNM announces tripled cash prize for Super League 2024

This means that the prize money will increase from K150 million to a staggering K450 million for the upcoming season.

Musician ‘Katelere Ching’oma’ laid to rest

The body of musician Katelere Ching’oma of the ‘Ndiri Nawo Mwayi’ fame has been laid to rest at his home village, in Nsanje district.

A large crowd that included politicians and celebrities gathered at Masimo village, Senior Chief Malemia to pay their last respect to the late musician.

Some of the high profile people that attended the funeral ceremony included Deputy Minister of Local Government, Unity and Culture Owen Chomanika, District Commissioner for Nsanje, Dominic Mwandira as well as renowned musicians, Joseph Mkasa, Favoured Martha, Eliza Mponya and Phalyce Mang’anda.
