Usi calls for commitment in matters of faith

Vice President Dr. Michael Usi has underscored the importance for church leaders and congregants  to demonstrate commitment and dedication in attending to matters of faith, asserting that this is the ultimate means of honouring God the Creator.

He made the remarks  during the induction ceremony of Reverend Robert Yanduya, who was officially installed as the General Secretary of Zambezi Evangelical Church (ZEC) at Mitsidi in Blantyre today.

Usi also made call for a unified church in serving God with humility and reverence among the clergy, enabling God’s presence to manifest profoundly within the church community.

He further emphasised the importance of fostering patriotism among the citizenry by collectively seeking solutions to the challenges facing the nation.

In his address, Reverend Robert Mambeya, Chairperson of ZEC Mitsidi Synod, lauded the Vice President for accepting their invitation to partake in the ceremonial proceedings.

Delegates speak blessings on Ken Zikhale Ng’oma

It was an amazing moment in Dowa when delegates of the Malawi Congress party stood up and laid their hands on leading Candidate Dr Ken Zikhale Ng’oma to speak blessings upon him.

Speaking to 247malawi, one delegate said Zikhale is a blessing to Malawi Congress Party and the delegates want to make sure that God should bless him.

“Zikhale is an asset to the party, a man of so much experience and the one who will give the necessary support to President Chakwera in  order  to move the party forward ” he said.

Speaking to the gathering, Zikhale said he was humbled by the welcoming gesture from the delegates.

He promised that he will do his best to serve the people

He said time has come when MCP members need to feel empowered so that they can develop their entrepreneurial Skills as well as being creative and innovative in their thinking

Dowa gives a ruptulous welcome to Zikhale Ng’oma as he bids for the Vice Presidency

MCP delegates in Dowa on Sunday evening gave a ruptulous welcome to the leading candidate for the seat of First Vice President Ken Zikhale Ng’oma, commonly known as Nyamazikuzikulu.

Ng’oma who met the delegates at  Hilltop in Mponela, was welcomed with ululation, with the delegates excited to see the flamboyant politician.

It was obvious that the gathering had one thing in mind, and that was to cement Zikhale as the Vice President of the party.

In his address to the delegates, Zikhale reiterated the fact that MCP needs strong and caring leaders who have the affairs of the people at heart.

Zikhale said President Chakwera needs the right talent in the party to help drive the agenda of developing the country.

For the party to be strong, the Vice President hopeful said the members need to be empowered so that they can be independent, establish businesses and be in a position to feed their families.

Nyamazikuzikulu urged the delegates to strive to be innovative, think outside of the box  and be creative in order to utilise the many opportunities that the government will be creating.

He also urged the delegates to have an entrepreneurial mind. He acknowledged that training will be needed and he believes with him as the Party Vice President , he will be at the forefront of driving the agenda, which he has branded as ICE (Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship)

Zikhale receive fresh endorsement from Ntcheu ,  Dedza delegates as First Deputy President

Minister of Homeland Security in the President Dr Lazarus Chakwera led Government who is also Director of Strategic planning in the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Dr Zikhale Ng’oma ,  on Saturday received fresh endorsement from delegates in Dedza and Ntcheu.

These delegates converged in Dedza where they said they were happy with the message delivered by Dr Ng’oma on what he intends to achieve once elected as the Second in command.



In their speeches District Chairmen from Dedza and Ntcheu said they were happy and believe Zikhale Ng’oma is an accomplished politician who has demonstrated willingness to help the party followers.

Before meeting Dedza and Ntcheu Delegates ,Dr Ng’oma also met delegates from Lilongwe.

The chairmen and councillors urged Ng’oma not to forget them once he is voted into the hot seat.

Karonga and  Moyale into FDH Cup semi-finals

Northern region sides, Karonga United and Moyale Barracks are through to the semi-finals of the FDH Cup following their 2-1 victories at Chitowe and Mzuzu Stadiums respectively.

Blessings Mwalilino scored a brace as Karonga United beat Mafco FC 2-1 as the home side scored their consolation through Auspicious Kadzongola.


Elsewhere, Moyale Barracks beat Lube Master 2-1 at Mzuzu Stadium to book themselves a place in the semi-finals.

Emmanuel Allan and Luke Chima were on target for the soldiers while Raffick Kabwazi scored the consolation for Lube Masters.

Karonga United will play the winner between Baka City and Blue Eagles Football Club in the semi-finals while Moyale Barracks will face either FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Civil Service United who are playing on Sunday.
