Kalindo says Malawians are suffering because of Ministers and Members of Parliament

Malawi’s self-acclaimed Political Activist Bon Kalindo aka Winiko during drama stage acting, has claimed that Malawians are in pain and suffering because of Ministers and Members of Parliament (MPs) who are all quiet as if everything is good on the ground.

Kalindo said had it been that Members of Parliament and Ministers were servant leaders of the people, they would have all stood up questioning the government about justice of the 2023/24 farming season’s Affordable Input Programme (AIP).

Bon Kalindo

The activist observed that AIP has been launched in Kasungu by President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera where beneficiaries were seen redeeming bags of fertilizer at K15,000 each saying this has been done contrary to the previous years where all ADMARC markets were in stocks with fertilizer.

Speaking through an audio clip circulating in various social media platforms, Kalindo recalled that last week Government through the Ministry of Agriculture announced closure of all ADMARC markets across the country.

Kalindo is observing that ADMARC closure has coincided with the hunger crisis in Malawi where people depend on the institution for buying cheaper maize saying the closure itself is clearly speaking that ADMARC has no maize to sale to the general public.

He alleging that fertilizer which was displayed in Kasungu during the launch of AIP was borrowed from companies and will go back to the owners advising Malawians to open their eyes that the launch has taken place without fertilizer in most selling points.

The Activist has since appealed to government not to fool Malawians that there is fertilizer in the country describing the launch as a symbolic one borrowing words spoken by former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi that running government is a serious business.

“There is no justice in the 2023 AIP, fertilizer has been borrowed from companies and was put on display that there is fertilizer in the country while not,” said Kalindo.

He has also asked MPs visited by President Chakwera in their constituencies to learn to speak development happening in their areas and not preaching on development projects of other districts describing this as a waste of time on the part of well -informed citizens.

Kalindo has advised Hon. Benedicto Chambo of Mangochi-MakanjiLa constituency to concentrate on the challenges people of Makanjila are selling through leaving issues of Salima and Lilongwe to be handled by their responsible MPs.

He thanked Hon. Aisha Adams Mambo for telling President Chakwera openly that Malawians are in pain and suffering because Ministers and MPs do not want to tell the President the truth warning the East Bridge mafias, that Malawians are well informed people and soon they will vomit the money.
