By Josephine Nkosi

As Malawi Congress Party delegates are geared to elect new members of its national executive committee, there is one name that is towering above the rest for the role of Vice President of the party. Ken Zikhale Ng’oma is not a novice in the political sphere, he has seen it all, he breaths politics and has been described by Political scientists as the greatest Political Strategist Malawi has ever had.

Zikhale is a talent that MCP cannot afford not to have. His political movements, awareness of the environment, ability to take opponents head on and policy articulations makes him a complete package – a political heavyweight that any political party would love to have in their ranks. This is why MCP delegates need not to gamble, the stakes are high in Malawi political environments, and this is not time to try political amateurs or people that are unpopular and those that fail to connect with the party grassroots

Zikhale, Favourite to win the MCP Vice Presidency

MCP delegates need to look at the party beyond the convention. The party will be facing the biggest battle next year in trying to remain in power. The opposition are galvanising and trying to revive their political life. While President Chakwera is busy delivering developments to the country, MCP needs a proper field Marshall, fearless and one  with heart of lion to drive the party agenda  and strengthen the party from the grassroots . That man is no other than Ken Zikhale Ng’oma

Zikhale has many qualities and in summary he is a great leader. He is available to anyone, in fact Zikhale is very down to earth in that many people are bale to get to him . He makes people feel at ease and comfortable around him . He is ‘mthandizi” a helper who doesn’t ask any question as far as helping people is concerned. He is development minded , this can be testified from his performance as a Member of Parliament  and as Minister of Homeland Security . He has been described even by critics as the most hard-working cabinet minister in Chakwera cabinet.

One thing for certain, Dr Ken Zikhale Ngoma is a natural born winner  and MCP is guaranteed big success in future with him as Vice President of the party
