President Chakwera welcomes Uladi Mussa into the mighty MCP

Malawi President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera has commended Former Democratic Progressive party (DPP) Vice President for the central , Uladi Mussa for joining the mighty Malawi Congress Party (MCP).

Welcoming Uladi Mussa, President Chakwera said was so impressed to receive him in the party.



The president reiterated his open door policy and urged all party leaders not to block anyone.

In his speech, Uladi Mussa promised to
work extra harder in order to build a stronger MCP.

Mussa said his agenda is to ensure Chakwera win his second term bid.

“I was the one who worked with Bingu wa Mutharika and won all elections, I was also the one who sold Peter Mutharika to win the polls , I will also work hard to ensure you also win second term, ” he declared.

Chakwera inspects Construction of Security Agencies Houses in Dowa

President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has today embarked on developmental projects tour of the central region by inspecting the construction progress of 59 security agencies houses which are at an advanced stage at Mvera Support Battalion in Dowa district.

Addressing the gathering at Andrew Murray Ground in the area of Senior Chief Chiwere, after the inspection of houses, President Chakwera assured people of Dowa for more developmental initiatives in various sectors to improve and enhance their livelihoods.

He said government will continue to intensify efforts to ensure that people of Dowa have access to clean water for improved hygiene and sanitation.

Speaking earlier, Minister of Local government, Unity and Culture who is also Member of Parliament for Dowa east constituency, Richard Chimwendo Banda commended President Chakwera for being development oriented and also for spearheading unity among Malawians, which he described as a catalyst for sustainable development.

The 59 houses are part of the national project which government through the Ministry of Lands is implementing, with the goal of constructing 10 thousand houses for all security agencies across the country.

The ministry has already constructed 1028 houses in the first phase of the project.

Currently Government has already handed over 15 houses at Malamya Police in Mangochi, 20 houses at Mzuzu police, 10 houses at Jenda police, 20 houses at Ndirande Police and 20 houses at Bangwe police.

Upon arrival President Chakwera was welcomed by Minister of Defence, Harry Mkandawire; Minister of Lands, Deus Gumba; Minister of Local Government Unity and Culture, Richard Chimwendo Banda; First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Madalitso Kazombo; Deputy Minister of Health, Halima Daud; Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Colleen Zamba; Commander of the Malawi Defence Forces, Paul Valentino Phiri; Chiefs and other senior government officials.

Extreme FC goalkeeper Blessings Juma has joined Civil Service United on a three-Year deal.

Juma who was also badly wanted by another Lilongwe giant Silver Strikers, joined the civil servants on Monday morning after agreeing personal terms with the club.

The goalkeeper was outstanding during last year’s TNM Super League season, winning a number of Man of the Match awards despite his team being relegated from the top flight.

Baka City unveils Oscar Kaunda as head coach

The newly promoted TNM Super league side Baka City Football Club has announced the signing of Oscar Kaunda as the team’s Head Coach for the 2024 Season.

According to the statement released by the club, Kaunda will be assisted by Davie Muyombe.

The former Civil Service United Football Club mentor has signed a 1-year contract with the Karonga-based side popularly know as ‘The Clever Boys.

Christopher Nyambose signs as Bangwe All Stars Head Coach

Bangwe All Stars Football Club has announced the arrival of Christopher Nyambose who will be working at the club as the team’s head coach.

The former Mighty Tigers mentor has joined Bangwe on a 7-month long deal with an option to extend if the team finishes in top 8 by the end of first round of the next TNM Super league season.

Nyambose has succeeded Abel Mkandawire whose 5-month contract expired along with that of his Assistant coach, Joseph Kamwendo.

Nyambose will be deputiesed by Joseph Semu while Gwaza Chiniko will be the
Technical Director.

Steve Madeira has retained his position of the Team Manager and Maneno Masowo as the Goalkeeper’s trainer.

Blessings Lapken is the Team Doctor while
Lameck Idana and Richard Tiyesi are the team’s Security and Media Officers respectively.
