Yo Maps’ Wife News Goes Viral On Social Media With Lusaka Tailor

A Lusaka based tailor Harris Nation has come to debris with a Lusaka Married Woman, Kiddist Kiffle.

The Lusaka Lilayi based housewife Kiddist Kiffle Mulenga (Yo Maps) took a weekend to cool off with her friends including Lusaka tailor Harris Nation as her husband was performing in Malawi.

While husband Elton Mulenga best known as Yo-Maps was outside Zambia abroad in Lilongwe Malawi, wife Kiddist together with her friends found a great opportunity to catch have fun, videos have circulated that show Mrs Yo Maps Mulenga having chest to chest kind of drinking with a Lusaka tailor who left his sewing machine and measuring tapes and started measuring how far married women could drink alcohol.

The videos have left many fans with question marks, wondering if Mrs Kiffle needs past papers on how to behave in public as a married woman, or rather maybe the couple is in an open relationship where anyone can do anything to married women like common prostitutes.

Meanwhile other fans have said there is nothing wrong and they should allow Mrs Yo Maps Mulenga to enjoy her youth and people should just mind their own business.

21-year-old girl emerges first winner of the Triephornia Mpinganjira’s’Kuthandiza Omwe Alibe Kuthekera Kupita Patsogolo’ initiative

A 21-year-old Chikondi Kamwendo from Bangula in Nsanje District has emerged the first winner of the Triephornia Mpinganjira’s ‘Kuthandiza Omwe Alibe Kuthekera Kupita Patsogolo initiative.

Kamwendo, whose business idea is to buy and sell farm produce, dropped out of University school, due to lack of fees.

Speaking in Lilongwe after receiving a cheque of K1 million, the young girl said she plans to open a farm store at Bangula where she will be selling maize, millet and beans at an affordable price.

“My projection is that I will make more than K2.5 million which I will invest back into the business until the second year where I will use part of the profits to return to school,” said Kamwendo.

She hailed Mpinganjira for introducing the initiative saying it will help many young entrepreneurs who have no capitals.

On her part, Triephornia Mpinganjira described Chikondi’s business idea as original, practical, sincere, a product of research and a pure understanding of the society she lives in.

“She sells Zigege to raise fees but she wants to open a farm produce shop. So, with this K1 million I hope she is drawing closer to her dreams. She is an icon to reckon with,”she said.

According to Mpinganjira, the project received over 38 000 applications and her team went through all the applications including making physical visits to potential winners.

The initiative whose total budget is K18 million, targets enterprising youths in the country between the ages of 18 and 35.

Those successful will receive K1 million.

Podcast Malawi partners with Unicaf university to boost higher education opportunities

Podcast Malawi says it has entered into a partnership with Unicaf University aimed at enhancing higher education among Malawi’s youth.

In an interview with 247 Malawi News,Podcast Malawi Coordinator, Gertrude Mlanga said through the partnership, Unicaf University will provide Podcast Malawi subscribers, and all the youth in Malawi, with free short courses and exclusive merchandise for active followers of upcoming episodes.

“This initiative will leverage Podcast Malawi’s platform to discuss the accessibility and opportunities in higher education at Unicaf University, reaching a broad audience of young Malawians.

“The university is dedicated to integrating technology for interactive learning experiences, which enrich the educational journey,” she said.

Mlanga explained that the collaboration is set to improve the competitiveness of Malawian youth in the global job market by focusing on industry-relevant curricula and the development of essential soft skills.

“In addressing unemployment among the youth, Unicaf University champions education, entrepreneurship, and access to opportunities, aiming to foster economic advancement.

“The university also supports sustainability efforts, community engagement, and equitable access to education, with plans to expand its scholarship programs and academic offerings soon,” said Mlanga.

2 Chinese nationals arrested for assault

Two Chinese nationals in Chikwawa have been arrested on suspicion that they assaulted a construction worker, leaving him unconscious and with a broken arm.

Chikwawa Police deputy spokesperson Chancy Mfune says the twain, Allen Cheng, 37, and Peng Yongqia, 34, accused 37-year old Silaj Maluwa, a machine operator, of stealing fuel.

Mfune says Maluwa, a Sinohydro Construction Company employee, was on Sunday 14 April 2024 working at a canal construction site when he was suspected of siphoning fuel from the machine.

He was reportedly found by his workmates lying unconscious along the earth road that connects to the campsite.

Maluwa is currently admitted to Chikwawa District Hospital where he is getting treatment.

Meanwhile, police have charged the suspects with grievous bodily harm.

The victim comes from Sadulo Village Traditional Authority Katunga in Chikwawa.

PPPC set to host Digital Malawi Project

The Public Private Partnership Commission (PPPC) will from tomorrow Wednesday, April 17, 2024 to Friday, April 19, 2024, host the Digital Malawi Project in the capital Lilongwe to foster collaboration among stakeholders and technology hubs.

In an interview, PPPC Chief Executive Officer(CEO) Patrick Kabambe said the conference will among others, feature panel discussions, breakout sessions, and innovation showcases targeting government officials, technology hub representatives, educators, industry leaders, and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) focused on education and skills development.

He said this will help address challenges and enhance digital literacy in line with evolving technological demands.

“The Digital Malawi Project is pivotal in equipping our citizens with the skills and resources needed to thrive in today’s digital age,” said Kabambe.

The PPC CEO said Malawi is witnessing swift expansion in its digital ecosystems, as demonstrated by the government’s initiative through PPPC.

The project, implemented with funding from the World Bank, is dubbed the ‘Luntha ndi Chuma’ Digital Skills Development and Innovation Initiative.

Launched in 2020, it has already trained over 12 850 youth, the elderly and women in digital skills, entrepreneurship, and ICT literacy, addressing crucial gaps in the country’s digital landscape.

Additionally, 57 sub-grants ranging from $2500 to $200 were awarded to promising innovators, with 55 youths securing internships in various organizations nationwide.

PPPC was established as the Privatisation Commission under the Public Enterprises (Privatization) Act of 1996.

It started operations in April 1996 with its Head Office in Blantyre, the commercial capital of Malawi.

The commission was established to implement divestiture of direct or indirect state interests in State Owned Enterprises (SOEs).
