Arace Calls Out Modern Relationship Conduct in Bold New Music Video

By Rahim Abdul

Malawian musician Arace has taken a firm and provocative stance on relationship values, criticizing women who display what he describes as inappropriate behavior within marriage, warning that such conduct ultimately destabilizes families.

The artist, known for his distinctive “chamba cha lokolo” sound, delivers this message through the visuals of his newly released song titled Ndikadzakutopela, where he tackles sensitive issues affecting modern relationships.

Arace, a member of the Phalombe Musik group founded by Giboh Pearson, uses the platform not only to entertain but to spark conversation around loyalty and respect in marriages.

Arace

In the video, the singer expresses concern over what he perceives as a growing trend among some women prioritizing admiration and external attention over commitment to their partners.

He suggests that such behavior often leads to emotional distance, opening doors to secret affairs that ultimately erode trust within relationships.

Through his lyrics, Arace cautions women engaged in infidelity to reflect on their actions, stressing that patience in men has limits and consequences may follow if boundaries are crossed.

The musician further emphasizes that when a partner reaches their breaking point, separation becomes inevitable, leaving those involved to face the realities of broken unions.

His message, though direct, is framed as a warning aimed at preserving the sanctity of marriage and encouraging accountability among couples.

This is not the first time Arace has addressed social issues through music, as he continues to use his artistry to challenge behaviors he believes undermine relationships.

Last year, he gained recognition with his track Malevozi, which similarly criticized women who undermine struggling partners while chasing wealthier men.

With Ndikadzakutopela, Arace reinforces his position as an artist unafraid to confront controversial topics, blending cultural commentary with musical expression.

By Durell Namasani

Human rights lawyer Alexious Kamangila has formally lodged a corruption complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), alleging that a 65 million kwacha bribe was paid to influence Parliamentary MPs probing the sale of the Amaryllis Hotel.

The ACB has confirmed receipt of the complaint, which adds a dramatic twist to an already sensitive inquiry. Bureau Public Relations Officer Jacqueline Ngongonda to reporters that internal consultations are underway to determine the next steps.

Kamangila

“We are considering how best to handle the case, given it was also a subject of the inquiry itself,” Ngongonda said, acknowledging the legal complexity of probing allegations that stem directly from the ongoing Parliamentary investigation.

In his complaint letter, Kamangila states he is ready to provide evidence and claims that some members of the Parliamentary committee are willing to testify as state witnesses against their colleagues. The lawyer’s move raises fresh questions about the integrity of the legislature’s own oversight mechanisms.

The ACB has not yet indicated whether it will open a formal docket, as officials weigh the jurisdictional and procedural challenges of investigating MPs who were simultaneously acting as investigators.

Tensions escalate: Trump faces backlash from Iran over Easter outburst

By Burnett Munthali

US President Donald Trump’s expletive-laden warning to Iran on Easter Sunday has sparked widespread criticism and a coordinated response from Iranian embassies, which have taken to social media to mock the US leader’s language and policies.

Trump’s post on Truth Social, in which he threatened to unleash “hell” on Iran if the country didn’t reopen the Strait of Hormuz, has been widely condemned as “embarrassing and juvenile” by politicians and commentators across the US.

Democratic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer described Trump’s behavior as that of an “unhinged madman on social media”.

Iran’s parliament speaker, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, responded to Trump’s threat, stating that the US president’s “reckless moves” were dragging the country into a “living hell” and that the region would “burn” due to Trump’s insistence on following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s commands.

The Iranian embassies’ social media posts have mixed humor, memes, and sharp criticism, with some describing Trump’s language as that of a “teenager” and questioning his representation of the US on the world stage.

The embassies’ responses have been widely shared and praised on social media.

Reports suggest that a 45-day ceasefire could be on the table, although Iran has denied Trump’s claim that the country’s president has requested a ceasefire.

The situation remains volatile, with both sides trading threats and accusations.

The conflict has already resulted in significant damage to civilian infrastructure, with approximately 81,000 sites affected, including homes, medical centers, and schools.

Experts have warned that Trump’s threats could constitute war crimes, as targeting civilian infrastructure is considered a violation of international law.

As the situation continues to unfold, Al Jazeera’s Mohamed Hassan provides the latest updates on the war on Iran, highlighting the need for diplomacy and restraint to prevent further escalation.
