President Lazarus Chakwera has encouraged all Malawians to keep their hope and faith in the Lord, saying the nation has not been abandoned by God.

Speaking at Katawa Assemblies of God Church in Mzuzu on Sunday morning, November 27,2022, Chakwera told the congregation that Malawi can do a lot of big projects if its citizens can keep faith and hold hands just as members of Katawa have joined hands to embark on a new church project.

“Keep the hope, keep the faith, for God has not abandoned his own creation, and certainly he has not abandoned Malawi. Let us keep doing the right thing, let us keep going the right direction, let us build Malawi together.” Said President Chakwera.

Here President Chakwera said the increasing cases of suicide in the country is as a result of lacking hope and faith. He has since appealed for perseverance among citizenry by having hope and faith at all times.

In his remarks, Division Director for North, Reverend Austin Tamandani thanked President Chakwera for congregating with the Assemblies of God church while in the region, saying the gesture has encouraged the members of Katawa Assemblies of God and the whole Division.

Tamandani then promised that as a church, the Division will continue to work with government in developing the country and praying for peace and success of Malawi.

Meanwhile, President Chakwera has returned to the capital Lilongwe after a 3 day visit to the Northern region where he went to attend this year’s Gonapamuhanya cultural festival of the Tumbuka tribe in Rumphi.
