Lulu, Namadingo to share the stage on New Year’s Eve at BICC in Lilongwe

There is no other better way to spend the last night of the year than watching two of the county’s most talented musicians performing at one stage.

This is exactly what will happen in Lilongwe where music lovers are expected to rock out 2022 with electrifying performances by two of Malawi’s finest musicians Lulu and Namadingo.

The two are going to rock the stage at Bingu International Convention Center (BICC) auditorium on 31st December, 2022.

The show is expected to start at 6 o’clock in the evening and is expected to end the debate on who is the best between the two artists.

Born on 28 May, 1990, Patience Namadingo is Malawi’s most sought-after musician who is not only well known in Malawi but in most parts of the SADC region.

On the other hand, Lulu, real name Lawrence Khwisa is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of R&B music in Malawi but he switched to Afro-pop over a decade ago. He is arguably the country’s best vocalist and skilful guitarist.

265 Energy Ltd up with Environmental Conservation Initiative

In an effort to conserve the environment in the cointi,a local gas company 265 Energy Limited has launched a three kilograms affordable gas cooker.

The company which aims at providing effective, cost effective energy solutions conducted the unveiling ceremony in Lilongwe and Mayor for the City graced the ceremony.

According to Mfundo Mbvundura, Chief Executive Officer and founder of 265 Energy Limited, the gas product will help the nation in environmental conservation.



Speaking with journalists, Mbvundura said it’s time for Malawians to move from illegal charcoal and start using modern ways of cooking.

On his part Richard Banda Mayor for Lilongwe city, said the gas energy will help reduce numbers of illegal charcoal users in the country therefore helping the nation to conserve its environment.

Established in 2018, 265 Energy Limited is a homegrown Malawian Company based in Lilongwe, Malawi and fully registered with the Malawian Government that is driven to providing efficient and cost effective solutions for the people of Malawi.

Disaster management department advises people on lightning prevention

The Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) has advised people to avoid hilltops and open areas in order to reduce the risk of being struck by lightning.

The sentiments come as the country is receiving heavy rains with strong winds and lightning

Speaking in an interview with 247 Malawi News, DoDMA chairperson Chipiliro Khamula said people should never shelter under an isolated tree and should immediately get away from ponds, lakes and other water bodies when it starts to rain heavily.



He said people should be indoors and make sure they stay away from objects that use electricity.

According to DoDMA, currently 42 people have died and 85 others have been injured due to lightning strikes and structure collapses during the current rainy season.

Bullets Reserve beat Silver Reserve 1-0 to win Aubrey Dimba trophy

Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves left it late to beat Silver Strikers Reserve 1-0 and defend the Aubrey Dimba Trophy title in an entertaining match that took place on Sunday afternoon at Aubrey Dimba Ground in Mchinji.

Chrispin Mapemba scored the only goal of the match in the 93rd minute for the Enos Chatama’s side to reclaim the title of the Five Million Kwacha competition having defeated the same opponent 4-2 in the previous final.



The Young Bullets have received K1.5 million while Silver Reserves have pocketed K700,000 from the sponsor, Aubrey Dimba.

Speaking after the final match Dimba thanked all the participating teams for putting up a great fight which made this year’s competition more exciting.

He has since promised that the competition will be back next year.

Comedian Teacher Mpamire jets in for Vilekeke Night of Laughter

Ugandan comedian Teacher Mpamire has arrived in the country on Christmas day afternoon through Kamuzu International Airport ahead of Vilekeke Night of Laughter where he is expected to perform on boxing day.

The Ugandan comedian will share the stage with another South African comedian Mozisi , who is already in the country, alongside the country’s stars in musician and comedian Patience Namadingo and stand-up comedian Mr jokes and Nya Uyu, real name Felistus Ngwira.

The event has been organised by Felistus Ngwira with partnerships from various organisations. Speaking to 247Malawi News, Ngwira says she expects fireworks on tomorrows.
