Namadingo yet to answer on the vanished K15 million kwacha Cancer donation

By Durell Namasani

Musician Patience Namadingo has found himself at the centre of a new controversy. Back in 2017, the musician led the nation in fundraising money for Cancer care at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Blantyre. A total of 15 Million Kwacha was raised and a dummy cheque was given to the hospital to mark the presentation of the donation. A few years down the line it has been established that the hospital hasn’t seen a penny of that money.

When one of the leading Newspapers broke the news of the missing 15 million many people have been expecting Namadingo to come out and explain himself. He so far hasn’t.

Namadingo is not new to charity work. His early days were synonymous with charity events and many of them were even beamed on his Facebook page. This is the first time that one of the would-be charity recipients has come out to say they didn’t receive the donation

The 15 million Kwacha was earmarked for the Children cancer Ward at Queen’s Hospital, money that was raised after a 40 day relentless campaign by the singer to get people and companies to donate
