If I was Nankhumwa – off the wall of Foster Fundi

If I were Nankhumwa I would have resigned as leader of opposition.
In fact I would have known that APM is protecting me rather than fighting him.
Seriously if I were him I would have set a good example, humble myself and support the decision for the good of the party.

Anyway, I am not Nankhumwa, why bother waste my time figuring out why APM and many members of NEC want me out. Thank God I am not him otherwise I would have asked my supporters in my mini camp to stand down. Purely just to set a good example that I can be held accountable too just like any member of our party.

Kondwani Nankhumwa

I am not sure if it’s naivety on my part, otherwise if I were Nankhumwa I would have questioned why Tonse leadership including Chakwera and Chilima are supporting my endeavors to cling to the house leadership position. Certainly I would have asked what do APM and NEC know I don’t know or what do they know I already know and how do they know what I know. Anyway, what do I know, I am just glad I am not Nankhumwa

UTM unveils Phalombe North candidate

Written by Sam Majamanda

United Transformation Movement (UTM) Saturday dated Mileme Primary School in Phalombe district as it unveiled its candidate for the Phalombe North Constituency fresh parliamentary elections to be held on November 10, 2020.

The Phalombe North seat fell vacant following the high court’s annulment of results for the 2019 tripartite elections that sent Anna Kachikho out of parliament, on grounds of serious irregularities that marred the election.

Kaliati unveils UTM Candidate

Speaking during the event, Secretary General for the UTM who is also Minister of Gender, Patricia Kaliati said the Tonse Alliance government has already started bringing development to people of Phalombe and the rest of the country hence the need for voters to support candidates representing the alliance.

She said people of Phalombe North and the rest of the district were living in dire poverty that worsened during the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) reign and it would be unwise for them to rally behind a DPP candidate once again.

“Among all the candidates contesting, it is the UTM candidate that will surely bring development to this area because he is already in government, so I want to urge everyone to vote this Tonse Alliance representative so that delivery of development is made easier in this constituency,” Kaliati pointed out.

In the constituency the Malawi Congress Party (MCP), which is leading the Tonse Alliance, did not field a candidate in order to pave way for UTM’s Justin Mokowa to amass all the support from Tonse Alliance affiliates.

On campaigning, the Minister asked UTM followers to conduct a peaceful campaign that acknowledges principles of democracy, centering on nonviolent co-existence.

UTM’s Publicity Secretary Dr. Chidanti Malunga bore evidence to the challenges that opposition Members of Parliament face to access development projects in parliament.

He said it would be wise for everyone in the constituency to vote UTM’s candidate in order for the area to open up to development.

In his speech the candidate, Mokowa asked his prospective constituents to give him their vote, promising to practice servant leadership as led by President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.

He said it was time for people of Phalombe and the rest of the Lhomwe belt to realize that peaceful co-existence is the way to national development.

Madonna’s Son David Banda Grooves to ‘Like a Virgin’ at His 15th Birthday Party

Madonna threw a raging backyard 15th birthday party for her son David Banda recently. The 62-year-old pop icon adopted Banda when he was just 13 months old after meeting him in 2006 at an orphanage in Malawi that she had helped fund, and it’s clear their bond has only grown stronger over the years.

In a clip from the party that Madonna posted to Instagram on Monday (Sept. 28), the singer and Banda share a tender moment, with David giving Mom a big smooch and the pair explaining the origin of the teen’s birth name, which he said means “speaks the truth.” “Do you think you’ll be able to live up to that?” Madonna asks him. “Definitely, I’m currently living up to it. I love you. That’s the truth right there,” he says, kissing his mom on her forehead.

The backyard party footage includes Banda doing a goofy dance to the superstar’s 1984 hit “Like a Virgin,” and fellow adopted siblings twins Estere and Stelle crooning French singer Lorie’s 2001 tune “I Love You.” There was, of course, plenty of line dancing and a healthy round of “Teach Me How to Dougie” starring another one of Madonna’s adopted daughters, Mercy James, amid the partygoers doing the “Cha Cha Slide.”

And, shocker, Banda took some serious swings with a baseball bat at a Donald Trump pinata, eventually kicking it to pieces to let the little kids get at the candy.

Fake defection by Fake CFT Members in Benghazi Karonga Central

By Durell Namasani

The constituency, Karonga Central, is slowly living up to its nickname ‘Benghazi’ as politics continues to hot up ahead of the by elections scheduled to take place in the area. This Saturday, Commander in Chief of Citizen for Transformation Movement (CFT) Timothy Mtambo was in the area alongside MCP Central region Campaign director Madalitso Kazombo to drum up support for MCP candidate Leonard Mwalwanda. It has been established however, that the presence of Mtambo on the campaign trail and the endorsement MCP candidate has got from the CFT movement has made some people very uncomfortable, with a group calling itself CFT Karonga coming out to endorse the rival candidate, Frank Mwenefumbo of UTM.

According to a team of our journalists on the ground, it has been established that the CFT Karonga team that is said to have endorsed Mwenefumbo doesn’t even exist. It has been uncovered that the claims have been propaganda work by the UTM team in order to create confusion among the electorates in the area.  “There has been nothing like an endorsement for Mwenefumbo from CFT here” said one of CFT members in the area. “What we know is that some people printed CFT Tshirts and distributed them to a certain group, took the pictures and then went on social media and other media houses to claim that they have endorsed Mwenefumbo”.

So called CFT Defectors

Writing on his Facebook page, Communication strategist for CFT Negracious Justin, highlighted that the official position of CFT was the endorsement of the MCP candidate, reasons which were announced last week in a statement that came from the movement.  “Awo akuti ndi a CFT wo sitikuwadziwa. Printing T-shirts is not a hustle koma akudzinamiza. Unprofitable propaganda of the old century “wrote Justin, making a point that the Movement doesn’t recognize those claiming to be CFT and is aware that it’s just propaganda tricks.

Mtambo , Mwalwanda and Kazombo

Timothy Mtambo held his first whistle stops in Karonga in which he urged the people in the area to vote for Mwalwanda.
