By Staff Reporter

Flames forward Khuda Muyaba on Sunday scored a brace in Polokwane City’s 3-2 win over JDR Stars in Glad Africa Championship.

This comes just three days after the striker claimed his first hat-trick in Polokwane’s 4-0 victory over Richards Bay on Wednesday.

Muyaba is the current leading scorer in the second- tier league after scoring six goals in six matches.

The former Moyale Barracks and Silver Strikers forward is aiming to win the Glad Africa Championship golden boot this season but faces competition from Black Leopards’ Tiklas Thutlwa who has so far scored four goals.

Muyaba joined Polokwane early last year when the team was in the DStv Premiership.

Polokwane has also two other Malawian players namely Dennis Chembezi who is a defender, and midfielder Mike Mkwate.

Wanderes Claim Bragging Rights In Blantyre Derby

Mighty Wanderers have upset bitter rivals Nyasa Big Bullets 1-0 in the Blantyre Derby at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday.

Playing in front of a sizeable crowd, the Nomads took the lead 30 minutes into the game through Vincent Nyanguru who was set up by man of the match Yamikani Chester.

Bullets tried to level the scores but Hassan Kajoke, Chiukepo Msowoya and Sankhani Mkandawire missed clear-cut chances.

In the second half Bullets coach Callisto Pasuwa made a number of changes bringing in Macfarren Mgwira for Hassan Kajoke,
Zicco Mkanda for Babatunde Adepoju and Alick Lungu for Yamikani Fodya.

This however did not yield anything as the People’s team still failed to find the back of the net.

On the other hand Wanderers brought in Rafick Namwera and Mike Kaziputa for Wisdom Mpinganjira and Vitumbiko Kumwenda.

It was a disappointing result for Bullets who were hoping to extend their lead on the log table after dropping 2 points against Mafco FC on Wednesday.

The win has taken Wanderers to 51 points from 27 games and they are on third position 5 points behind the Leaders.

Bullets remain on top with 56 points against second placed Silver Strikers’s 55 with the same number of games.

The People’s team will finish their campaign against Karonga United at home and Kamuzu Barracks away while the Central bankers are remaining with Moyale Barracks and Ekwendeni Hammers

In another game played on Sunday, a lone goal from Innocent Tanganyika gave Civil Service United a 1-0 victory against Blue Eagles at Civo Stadium.
