The first-ever election petition to be deposited in the 2019 chaotically managed tripartite election will ironically be the last to be disposed of. According to Registrar of the High Court, the judgment is set to be delivered on Monday, 23 August 2021 by the Honourable Jack N’riva, Judge of the High Court.
“Take notice that the court shall deliver its judgment on the petition on the 23rd day of August 2021 at 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon in open court,” reads a ‘notice of delivery of judgment’ from the Registrar of the High Court.

Gerald Kazembe who narrowly lost the election according to Electoral Commission results to Ralph Pacharo Jooma petitioned the court arguing the election was riddled with lots of irregularities the outcome of which was not the true representation of the will of the people of the lakeshore-based constituency of Mangochi-Monkey-bay.

Nyasa Big Bullets’s bid to win the CECAFA Kagame Cup as a guest team ended in tears after the People’s team lost 1-0 to Ugandan side Express FC at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Saturday.
First-half goal from Martin Kizza that came in the 21st minute, was enough to hand the Ugandan side there maiden regional clubs title.
Bullets’s inform striker Bright Munthali had a chance to draw the People’s team level in the 35th minute after being released by Babatunde Adepoju but his effort went just wide of the post.
New signing Adepoju, saw his goal at the stroke of halftime disallowed for an offside forcing Bullets to go into the first half break trailing 1-0 to the Ugandans.
In the second half coach Peter Mponda replaced McFallen Mgwira with Hassan Kajoke who nearly found the equalizer for Bullets but his header was blocked by Express defender.
Captain Chimwemwe Idana had a shot at goal but goalkeeper for the Red Eagles Joel Mutakubwa made an important save to deny Bullets the much needed equaliser.
Bullets have received 16 million Kwacha for finishing as runners up and defender Yamikani Fodya and midfielder Chimwemwe Idana have been awarded with Best player and Fair player awards respectively.
Meanwhile, the People’s team are expected to arrive in the country on Sunday and they will play Silver Strikers in the FDH Cup semifinal slated for Wednesday, August 18 at Silver Stadium.
Nyasa Big Bullets are in the finals of the CECAFA Kagame cup after beating Azam FC 2(2) -2 (4) in the penalty shootout in a match that took place at Azam Stadium in Tanzania.
Nickson Nyasulu scored the winning penalty to send Bullets into the finals.
After extra-time ended with the score locked at 2-2, Nyasulu was Bullets’s penalty hero after scoring the winning penalty.
Just like it was in the quarter-finals, Bullets got their first goal in the earliest minutes of the match through Bright Munthali who scored just 3 minutes into the game.
Munthali had a chance to double the lead after receiving a beautiful pass from Babatunde Adepoju but his effort was blasted over the cross bar.
Azam got an equaliser in the 67th minute through a Nickson Nyasulu’s own goal.
The home side then took the lead in the 73rd minute through Tepsie Evance but Bright Munthali completed his brace 5 minutes later to keep the People’s team back in the game.
The game then went into extra time with Bullets playing a beautiful passing game but still failed to get the winner forcing the match to enter into sudden death.
Yamikani Fodya, Hassan Kajoke,Chimango Kayira and Nickson Nyasulu scored their sport kicks while Miracle Gabeya’s penalty was saved by Azam goalkeeper.
Despite his earlier mistake that saw him scoring an own goal in the 67th minute, Nyasulu was confident to shoot home the winner that saw Bullets progress to the finals.
The People’s team will now meet Express FC of Uganda in the final on Saturday.

Nyasa Big Bullets are through the semi-finals of the CECAFA Kagame Cup after beating Atlabara FC of South Sudan 2-0 in their Group A match that took place at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The game was a must-win for The People’s Team to secure a spot in the semi-final stage of the competition.
Bullets scored the first goal through Nickson Nyasulu in the 2nd minute of the game before Hassan Kajoke doubled the lead 32 minutes later.

Atlabara had the chance to reduce the score line but Tombe Apollo missed from the penalty spot.
After the game, Bullets Assistant Coach Peter Mponda said he was delighted with the victory.
“I am very happy with the way the boys have played today. It was a must win game for us and we really played as a team, that’s why we have managed to secure this very important victory,” he said.
Bullets are using the competition as part of preparations for Caf Champions League slated to start in September.
