The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) National Director of Women, Honourable Mary Navicha MP, has called on Malawians to return to the trusted leadership of His Excellency Prof. Arthur Peter Mutharika, citing his commitment to fixing the country’s economy.

Navicha made the remarks during a Mega Rally organized by DPP Vice President for the South, Honourable Joseph Mwanamvekha, at Nancholi Ground in Blantyre City South Constituency.

With confidence, Navicha assured the gathering that Prof. Mutharika is already making plans to address the country’s economic challenges.

She shared a personal anecdote about a time she mistakenly called Prof. Mutharika at 1:00 AM, only to find him still awake and brainstorming ways to help Malawians.

Navicha’s speech emphasized the need for Malawians to return to the leadership of Prof. Mutharika, who she described as a trusted and committed leader.

Her remarks were met with enthusiasm from the crowd, who seemed to share her confidence in Prof. Mutharika’s ability to address the country’s economic challenges.

The rally was seen as a show of strength for the DPP, which has been working to regain support ahead of future elections.

Navicha’s speech was part of a broader effort by the party to promote Prof. Mutharika’s leadership and vision for the country.

As National Director of Women for the DPP, Navicha has been a key figure in promoting the party’s agenda and mobilizing support among women.

Her appointment to the role was seen as a strategic move by the party to promote gender equality and empower women within the party.

The DPP has been working to rebrand itself and regain support after a tumultuous period in Malawian politics.

The party has been holding rallies and events across the country, promoting its vision for Malawi’s future and seeking to reconnect with voters.

As the country looks ahead to future elections, the DPP’s efforts to promote Prof.

Mutharika’s leadership and vision will likely be a key factor in shaping the political landscape.

With Navicha and other party leaders rallying support, the DPP is poised to remain a major player in Malawian politics.

By Burnett Munthali

Three Malawians who were reportedly promised lucrative jobs in Malaysia have instead found themselves trapped in Myanmar.

Authorities have confirmed that the three individuals are being held in a camp controlled by armed rebel fighters.

The victims were allegedly deceived by human traffickers who lured them with offers of well-paying employment opportunities.

Instead of reaching Malaysia as expected, the three were transported to Myanmar under unknown circumstances.

Reports indicate that they are now being held in an area controlled by insurgents, raising serious concerns about their safety.

It remains unclear how the victims were transported across borders without detection.

Authorities suspect that an organized human trafficking syndicate may be involved in this case.

Myanmar has been plagued by ongoing conflicts involving various armed groups, making the situation even more precarious.

The Malawian government has expressed concern over the matter and is working to gather more information.

Efforts are reportedly underway to establish contact with the victims and assess their condition.

The families of the trapped individuals have expressed distress and are calling for urgent intervention from the authorities.

Human rights organizations have also condemned the incident, warning that trafficking networks are increasingly targeting African job seekers.

Experts believe that many unsuspecting individuals fall prey to traffickers due to the promise of better economic opportunities abroad.

Cases of human trafficking involving Malawians seeking jobs in Asia and the Middle East have been on the rise in recent years.

The government has urged Malawians to be cautious when responding to job offers abroad.

Officials have also called for stricter measures to prevent human trafficking and protect citizens from exploitation.

The fate of the three Malawians remains uncertain as efforts continue to secure their safe release.

A shocking revelation has emerged from Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) sources, confirming that the name of Commissioner Francis Kasaila and his spouse are missing from the MEC database.

This anomaly was discovered when the couple attempted to transfer their voter registration to Mpatsa Community Day School in Blantyre.

According to sources at Mpatsa Community Day School, Commissioner Kasaila and his spouse had registered at Ngumbe in Blantyre and sought to transfer their registration to the new location.

However, when officials tried to scan their National Identity cards and voter’s certificates, their names could not be traced in the database.

In a surprising twist, the couple’s children were able to access transfers without any issues, as their names were found in the database.

Commissioner Kasaila’s response to the anomaly was cryptic, stating only that “the Commission will issue a statement on the same.”

The MEC Director of Media and Public Relations, Sangwani Mwafulirwa, issued a statement. In the statement  it said MEC has received reports of missing records in the preliminary voters’ register in some centres.

“The Commission has immediately commenced a process of establishing the cause of the missing records and how this will be rectified. The Commission wishes to emphasize that the voter registration data remains preliminary until it has been provided to voters, political parties, candidates, civil society organizations, and other observers for inspection to verify all entries in the Voters’ Register. Inspection and verification is the next activity in the electoral calendar. Therefore, the Commission assures the public that there is no cause for alarm, as the inspection and verification stage is meant to address cases like these. The Commission will ensure that the final Voters’ Register contains all records” read part of the statement
