Filmmaker Tumpe Mtaya, popularly known as Phwedo, has been appointed brand ambassador for Chinese car company, Carway International.
Phwedo, well-known for his roles in popular films such as ‘School Days’ and ‘Welcome to Maula Prison’, is the company’s first brand ambassador.

The six-month contract is worth K35 million.
Speaking during the ambassadorship signing ceremony on Monday, Carway International Executive Brian Kumwenda said they chose Phwedo because of his popularity and his ability to boost their brand.
Kumwenda added that there’s a possibility of extending the contract depending on Phwedo’s performance.
On his part, Phwedo stated that, in addition to his filmmaking career, he is committed to the ambassadorship so that he increases public awareness of the company’s work.
