Kondwani Majuta, who was in second year of his tertiary studies at Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) was found dead in his hostel room on Wednesday morning.
MUBAS spokesperson Elias Chizimba has confirmed the matter to the journalists who came to the scene.
Chizimba said, the late Majuta, who comes from Mchinji, had not been seen since Saturday until his body was found in his room at the university’s campus.
“Currently, the police are working on the matter to identify the cause of the death,” said Chizimba.
Meanwhile, Blantyre Police Public Relations Officer, Peter Mchiza, says a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death is underway in Blantyre.
