Music lovers can expect a bigger and more exciting Sand Music Festival this year after organisers promised a refreshed look and an upgraded beach entertainment experience.

HS Winehouse Hospitality and Beverage Company announced the developments after unveiling CapeStars as the official platinum sponsor of the 2026 Sand Music Festival through a partnership with Impakt Events Management.

Organisers say this year’s edition is designed to deliver more than just music by offering a memorable experience for both local and international visitors.

CapeStars General Manager Darlingtone Ndasauka said the company is committed to creating spaces where people can relax, connect and enjoy quality entertainment.

He said festival-goers should expect an enhanced atmosphere and an unforgettable experience throughout the three-day festival.

Ndasauka said the partnership also carries sentimental value, recalling that he and fellow director Wilkins Mijiga worked alongside the late music legend Lucius Banda during the festival’s formative years.

He described the sponsorship as a continuation of a vision that has helped establish the Sand Music Festival as one of Malawi’s leading entertainment events.

Impakt Events Management Lead Coordinator Yamikani Chinguwo said the long-term partnership will strengthen the festival’s growth and enhance its appeal across the region.

Chinguwo said the sponsorship will help position the Sand Music Festival among Southern Africa’s premier beach music events while creating opportunities for surrounding communities.

He added that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to promoting Malawi’s tourism and entertainment industries.

The announcement follows CapeStars’ recent partnership with Mibawa Events during the Magician Butter Music Experience concert, underlining the company’s growing investment in Malawi’s entertainment sector.

The 2026 Sand Music Festival will take place from 25 to 27 September at Sunset Beach, Sunbird Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi, where thousands of music lovers are expected to gather for one of Malawi’s biggest annual beach music celebrations.
