One of the country’s top network providers Telekom Networks Malawi Limited (TNM) has on Wednesday donated K5 million towards a concert which rapper Gwamba real name Duncan Zgambo has organized in the Malawi’s green city of Mzuzu.

The concert dubbed ‘Gwamba Unlimited’ is scheduled to take place on August 26,203 in the northern city.

In an interview, TNM Head of Brand and Marketing Madalitso Jonazi said the sponsorship is aimed at making a positive impact on the creative industry.

Jonazi said ahead of the concert, the network provider will offer discounts to people buying tickets for the concert on Mpamba.

He added that TNM remains supportive towards the entertainment sector.

On his part, Gwamba expressed excitement saying the funds wil go a long way in making the concert a success.

He said said for artists to thrive in the country they require corporate support which is low at the moment.

“It is not every day that you see corporates pouring in such support on arts.

“The potential is there but what we are lacking is that financial capacity. I am encouraged by the support that I have received today,” said Gwamba.

The musician added that he will now start adding cultural elements to the concert including some traditional dances which are popular in the Northern Region.

In 2021,Gwamba also conducted the similar concert at Mzuzu Stadium which attracted several people in the country.
