Top One Ginger has pledged to continue sponsoring boxing in Malawi as part of efforts to help develop the sport and nurture local talent.
The commitment was made by the company’s Operations Manager, Maxwell Sandram, following a boxing tournament organized by Youth Boxing Promotions at Mulungu Hall in Lilongwe.
Sandram said the company was impressed with the success of the event and expressed satisfaction with the way Youth Boxing Promotions managed the tournament from start to finish.

He praised the organizers for delivering a well coordinated event and commended the boxers for their entertaining performances, saying the exciting bouts demonstrated the growing potential of boxing in Malawi.
Sandram said Top One Ginger is committed to supporting initiatives that promote the sport and provide opportunities for local boxers to develop their careers.
He added that the company’s long-term goal is to see Malawian boxers excel both locally and internationally by winning prestigious boxing titles and bringing pride to the country.
Youth Boxing Promotions promoter Salimu Chazama thanked all the sponsors who supported the tournament, with special recognition given to Top One Ginger for its financial contribution.
Chazama said the sponsorship played a key role in ensuring that the event was successfully organized and smoothly executed.
Top One Ginger, a beverage company based at Kaphiri in Lilongwe, sponsored the boxing event for the first time with a contribution of K1 million.
In the main bout of the evening, Chimwemwe “Chipembere Chiotcha” defeated Hannock Phiri by points after an entertaining eight-round contest, bringing the successful tournament to a close.
