A Blantyre based charity youth group by the name “we are One” on Tuesday hailed a 21 year old boy who since his birth is handcuped and stays with his parents who could not afford his every day needs due to poverty.
The boy Japhet Albert Phiri Moyo,is a child of a 76 years old man, Richard Katikafwe moyo and 75 year old mother ,Asalanji moyo in the area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Machinjiri who are residing at Blantyre Railways, Village Headman(V/G),Mbayani in the city.
Speaking during handing over of a sorted items which included a Bag of Msima flour ,5 litters of cooking oil, Sugar balls ,Soap and others estimated at over K3 Hundred Thousand Kwacha,chairperson for “we are one” Isaiah Right appealed to the public to be the first people who should be searching for those who are needy and not wait for the needy to reach them and ask for arms.
” there are many people out there who lack timely support from well wishers,so there is no need for people to wait until those who ask for arms get them,well wishers should go first in residential areas and search for those who are needy ,Malawi is poverty stricken “expressed Right.
In her remarks, mother to the boy Asalanji Moyo ,commended the group citing the magnitude of the challenges she and his husband have been facing,mostly in the regards of access to daily need for the the boys’ livehood.
” as you know that currently our country is facing a lot of financial hiccups, we are not taking your visit for granted ,it is timely ,we could not afford things for proper support of our child Japhet,”She explained.
We are one group was formed in the year 2012 ,with the aim of mobilizing youths who have the capacity to assist others who are in needy at large.
