Political scientist Ernest Thindwa has called on youths in the country to take a more active role in politics.
Speaking at a town hall meeting at Soche Technical College on Friday, Thindwa highlighted the need for youth to build networks and push for more involvement in decision-making processes.

He noted that despite making up the majority of the population, youth remain underrepresented in politics.
Thindwa said for instance,in 2019, only one young MP was elected on a party ticket.
On his part,Chimwemwe Kaonga of the Centre for Governance and Leadership advised aspiring youth leaders to seek mentors and build community influence.
The meeting was organized under the UNDP-funded Malawi Electoral Support Project, which aims to promote inclusive and credible elections.
