By Wadza Botomani

Jordan Sauti, the Patriotic Citizens Party (PCP) presidential candidate, has officially submitted his nomination papers to the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) in preparation for the September 16 general election. The nomination took place at the Bingu International Convention Centre, where Sauti introduced Timothy Kayendera as his running mate.

In his address, Sauti committed to running a peaceful and law-abiding campaign, emphasizing his party’s dedication to upholding electoral regulations. “We will follow every rule and promote peace throughout the process,” he declared. His campaign will focus on fostering national unity and ensuring a fair electoral process.

Sauti also outlined key policy priorities, including inclusive economic development aimed at benefiting all Malawians. He promised to create opportunities for citizens to invest and participate in the country’s growth. Additionally, he pledged to introduce free secondary education and reduce tuition fees in public universities and colleges, aiming to improve access to quality education.

The submission of Sauti’s nomination marks another milestone in the lead-up to the September elections, as political parties finalize their candidates and campaign strategies. His pledges on education and economic inclusion are expected to resonate with voters seeking tangible reforms in Malawi’s governance and social services.
