Renowned Malawian poet Japhar Time has announced that he is set to release his latest poetry film titled Mchipululu on October 5,2025.
According to him, this project has taken a lot of dedication and hard work, making it one of his most meaningful creations. He described the film as a milestone in his artistic journey and a reflection of his passion for using poetry as a tool to inspire and uplift society.
Mchipululu tells the story of a man who has suffered from a long term illness but continues to hold on to faith in his Creator.
Despite enduring pain and constant challenges, the character never loses sight of hope and continues to give thanks to God with the belief that one day he will recover. The film is built on the message of endurance, hope, and the power of unwavering belief in divine healing.
Through the narrative, Japhar Time highlights how many people tend to lose hope and drift away from God when faced with hardship. Mchipululu serves as a metaphor for the struggles of life, showing how faith and resilience can guide people through their darkest times.
The film not only portrays the reality of suffering but also emphasizes the spiritual strength needed to overcome it.
Speaking to 247 Malawi News, Japhar Time explained that the central message of his poetry is to remind people that even when one is battling sickness, healing is possible through prayer and steadfast faith in Allah.
He further stated that although some may advise turning to traditional healers for solutions, true believers must remain firm in their conviction that ultimate healing comes only from God.
The poet further revealed that Mchipululu is not the end of his creative journey but rather the beginning of bigger projects he is planning for the future. He said he has a number of other works in the pipeline, which he believes will continue to spread meaningful messages to communities across Malawi and beyond. He also hinted at collaborations with other artists to expand the impact of his craft.
In addition, Japhar Time expressed confidence that Mchipululu has the potential to compete for international awards due to its powerful theme and artistic presentation. He stressed that his goal is not merely to gain recognition but to use poetry as a platform to rebuild lives and restore hope in people who may have lost it. For him, poetry remains a spiritual calling and a service to humanity, not just an art form.
