Bushiri’s Ironman Conference: A call to action for Malawi’s men

By Burnett Munthali

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri is set to host the 2026 Global Ironman Conference on Saturday, 4 April 2026, from 9:00 am at the Golden Peacock in Lilongwe, bringing together men from across the globe to tackle socio-economic challenges.

The conference aims to raise a generation of resilient, purpose-driven individuals capable of overcoming life’s challenges and living impactful lives, according to Communications Director at Jesus Nation Church, Aubrey Kusakala.

Prominent business leaders such as Thom Mpinganjira and Korea Mpatsa will deliver keynote speeches on finance and economic empowerment, providing practical strategies for overcoming economic difficulties.

Chief Presidential Advisor on Religious Affairs, Apostle Timothy Khoviwa, will attend on behalf of President Peter Mutharika, underscoring the government’s interest in the conference’s objectives.

The conference, themed “Dominance,” will focus on practical strategies for overcoming socio-economic difficulties and fostering resilience, with men from over 50 countries expected to participate.

Bushiri has emphasized the need for men to rise up and take dominion over God’s creation, adopting a holistic approach to life that honors God while making a meaningful impact on their families, churches, and communities.

The event is part of Bushiri’s wider initiative to tackle challenges faced by men, ranging from economic hardship to spiritual disillusionment, and promote entrepreneurship and economic self-reliance.
