Vice-president Jane Mayemu Ansah has stepped up support for vulnerable communities in Nkhotakota, donating maize, bicycles, blankets and soya pieces to families facing hardship in the area of Senior Chief Kanyenda.
The donation was made on Thursday, September 24, through the Jane Ansah Foundation as part of efforts to support people affected by poverty, food insecurity and social exclusion.

Ansah said the Foundation is committed to helping underprivileged people, particularly those who are often marginalised or neglected within their communities.
She also expressed concern over elderly people facing accusations of witchcraft, saying such experiences can leave them traumatised and socially isolated.
The vice-president further highlighted mental health challenges among older people and called for greater community support for the elderly.
She commended president Arthur Peter Mutharika for what she described as efforts to promote food security and thanked him for appointing her as vice-president.
Senior Chief Kanyenda welcomed the donation, saying the assistance arrived at an important time for the affected communities.
Nkhunga Constituency Member of Parliament(MP) Dorothy Chikonje also thanked Ansah for the support, saying elderly people, people with physical disabilities, people of short stature and people with albinism were among those affected by hunger following floods during the previous rainy season.
