The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament is expected to resume its meeting next week to conclude its investigations into the purchase of the Amaryllis Hotel.

Committee Chairperson, Steve Malondera said this on 17 April, 2026 on the Telephone interview.

He said the purpose of the meeting is to engage additional individuals believed to have critical evidence on the matter.

According to Malondera, those expected to appear before the committee include former Chief Secretary to the Government, Colleen Zamba; former Reserve Bank Governor, Mafuta Mwale; senior officials from National Bank; the owner of Amaryllis Hotel; and Secretary to the Government, Justin Saidi.

He added that efforts are ongoing to facilitate Colleen Zamba’s return to Malawi, as she is currently outside the country, to allow her to present her side of the story.

Malondera expressed optimism that the process will proceed smoothly and reiterated the committee’s commitment to protect the government resources.
