The 6th President of Malawi and President of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP), Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, today led MCP Members of Parliament during the party’s parliamentary caucus held at the MCP Headquarters in Lilongwe.

The caucus brought together MCP legislators and party leadership to discuss key parliamentary and party matters as the party continues to strengthen its structures and prepare for future political engagements. According to MCP Publicity Secretary Jessie Kabwila, the meeting was well-attended, formed a quorum, and was “very fruitful”.

This gathering is part of Dr. Chakwera’s broader strategy to fortify the party ahead of the 2030 elections, actively engaging with leadership across all levels to bolster organizational capabilities and refine policies.

The caucus has drawn encouraging responses from supporters across social media platforms.

One user on Twitter wrote: “This is the leadership we need! Chakwera is showing that MCP is ready for 2030. Unity and progress!” Another commented: “Great to see the party coming together under Chakwera’s guidance. The future is bright for Malawi.”

On Facebook, a supporter posted: “MCP is stronger than ever! Chakwera’s commitment to strengthening our structures gives us hope. We are behind you, Mr. President!” Another added: “The caucus shows that MCP is focused on serving Malawians. This is the kind of organized leadership that will take us forward.”

Additional voices echoed similar sentiments, with one user stating: “Chakwera is rebuilding MCP the right way—through dialogue and strategic planning. This is how you prepare for victory.” Another commented: “Proud of my party! The caucus was a clear sign that we are united and ready to deliver for the people of Malawi.”
