Ndalama hails Mutharika for reviving abandoned health projects in Chiradzulu

Member of Parliament for Chiradzulu Nyungwe, Mcphearson Ndalama, has commended President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika for reviving and completing development projects that were previously abandoned for political reasons in the constituency.

Ndalama made the remarks on Thursday during the official opening of Ng’omba and Chimwalira health posts.

The lawmaker said the two health facilities will play a critical role in saving lives, especially for children who in the past struggled to access medical services due to long distances and poor infrastructure.

“These health posts are a clear sign that the DPP-led government under President Mutharika is committed to bringing services closer to the people. We thank him for continuing projects that others left unfinished,” Ndalama said.

On his part, Chiradzulu District Council Chairperson Alick Naphwiyo appealed to religious leaders to stop discouraging people from seeking medical treatment.

Naphwiyo urged all faith leaders to support congregants to access health services when sick in order to reduce infant and maternal mortality rates in the district.

Government officials, traditional leaders and community members attended the event, describing the opening of the health posts as a major boost to health service delivery in Chiradzulu Nyungwe.
