Activist Frederick Billy Malata, says many Malawians expected the DPP and President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to do things more differently than the MCP and Dr. Lazarus Chakwera but there hopes on the DPP have now being dried up.
Malata said many Malawians were expecting prices of essential commodities such as sugar, cooking oil, soap, and others, to be lower but the prices are beyond the reach of the poor people in Malawi..
He said even if the elections are held today, there will be no one to vote for the DPP advising the party to go back to the bedroom and come back with new ideas to win trust of millions of Malawians that have no hope for a better tomorrow.
Speaking through a video clip, Malata who previously held a DPP National Governance Committee position and expelled from the party, said Ministers of Finance, Trade and Industry and Energy have failed Malawians and there’s no need to keep them, they need to be fired from their positions.
Malata has claimed that the whole country is buying fuel at the black market using tankers registered in foreign countries while belonging to Malawians saying this is the reason that most of the service stations are dry with no fuel.
He said it is sad that there are reports that foreigners bringing fuel into the country are demanding their dollars while the country has been hardly hit by forex challenges saying had it been that the government used Malawian transporters, fuel would have been readily available in all of the country’s service stations.
The Activist has reminded Malawians that former presidents Dr. Bakili Muluzi and the incumbent, Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika are on record having said that running government is a serious business, today the country has no fuel yet ministers are there questioning them what they are doing in government?
He said Former Minister of Energy Ibrahim Matola cried in front of the cameras, today the country has no electricity and water, assuring the DPP that it is digging the grave for itself to fall before the 2030 elections.
Malata has expressed fears that ministers of Finance, Trade and Energy are destroying Professor Mutharika’s legacy observing that they are doing nothing hence there’s great need to fire them for others to take over.
He said the country has capable people to help President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika run the country better than what these ministers are doing, observing that they are there to serve themselves and not the country and its citizens.
“Why keeping a Ministers who are not delivering, things are not good in Malawi, fire them for other people to deliver,” said Malata.
He said President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has a strong desire of taking the country to another level – from being the poorest to the middle income economy but he is surrounded by people who does and doing nothing in government.
