In a touching and powerful show of love and respect, Minister of Lands Honourable Chimwemwe Chipungu was on Friday humbled and honoured by the Luchenza Pastors Fraternal.
On Friday, 18th September 2026, the Pastors Fraternal remembered the Minister with special gifts of a Bible and a banner during their gathering at Luchenza Community Hall.
The pastors said they gave the Minister the Bible because they have seen his godly leadership, his humility and his fear of God.
Receiving the gifts, Honourable Chipungu said a Bible is one of the greatest gifts one can receive in life.
“I have also made it a tradition to give Bibles to my children on their birthdays as a way of encouraging them to grow up in godly ways and strengthen their relationship with God. I carry my Bible wherever I go because it is a source of strength and a spiritual weapon that helps me stand firm in faith and overcome the attacks of the enemy,” said Chipungu.
The Minister who is known for his deep faith and humility encouraged the Luchenza Pastors Fraternal to continue praying for our country especially as we have been warned of a possible dry spell.
“I believe that God can do wonders beyond what scientists can predict and that through prayer, faith and unity we can overcome the challenges ahead,” he said.
This is the kind of leadership Malawi needs. Leaders who fear God. Leaders who carry the Bible as their weapon, not corruption and arrogance. While other politicians carry charms and evil powers, Honourable Chimwemwe Chipungu carries the Bible.
The pastors prayed for the Minister and for President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and for the whole nation. They commended President Mutharika for appointing God-fearing people like Chipungu into his cabinet.
The gesture by Luchenza Pastors Fraternal has touched many Malawians who say this is proof that God is with this government.
May God continue to bless Honourable Chimwemwe Chipungu and strengthen him in his service to the people of Malawi.
