Vice President Jane Ansah has revealed her family’s ancestral connections to Mulanje and Ntcheu, while reaffirming her pride in her Ngoni heritage.
Ansah disclosed that her great-grandparents came from Mulanje, while her family also has historical roots in Ntcheu.
She made the revelation during the wedding ceremony of Kelvin and Beatrice Nangwale at Chimwala CCAP Church in Kaphiri, Lilongwe, where she shared details of her family background and cultural identity.

The Vice President used the occasion to reflect on the importance of family history, cultural heritage and ancestral connections in shaping people’s sense of belonging.
She also described her return to Chimwala CCAP Church as an emotional reunion with a congregation that played an important role in her childhood.
Ansah recalled that the church was where she learnt her ABCs, made friends and developed relationships that remain part of her life.
Turning to the newlyweds, she encouraged them to build their marriage on faith and make God the foundation of their relationship and family.
Drawing from personal experience, she cited her 43-year marriage and the 49-year marriage of Nangwale Senior as examples of lasting commitment.
She urged Kelvin and Beatrice to nurture their union through faith, patience and mutual understanding.
